Our Story
Villena Seafood was founded on the observation that Norway’s coastline spans several major fishing grounds — including the North Sea, Norwegian Sea, and Barents Sea — each offering distinct species and harvesting conditions. By establishing operations across these key coastal and Arctic regions, the company is able to supply international buyers with a diverse range of seafood products processed to strict international standards through a single, reliable partnership.
Through subsidiaries in Ålesund, Tromsø, Bodø, and Bergen, with headquarters along Norway’s central coastal region, Villena Seafood and its partners across the Norwegian Sea, North Sea, and Barents Sea now operate across Norway’s most productive fishing regions — some of the world’s richest and most sustainably managed marine areas.
The result is a company that can offer global buyers 30+ species across five major seafood categories, processed to strict international standards, with full traceability and complete documentation support — all through a single trusted Norwegian export partnership.
First Exports
Commenced export operations to key international markets, establishing initial supply chains for premium seafood products from Norway’s coastal and North Atlantic fishing regions, including key species such as salmon, cod, and mackerel.
Certification
Achieved HACCP, BRC, and FDA certifications across primary processing facilities. EU approval numbers obtained for European market access.
Expansion
Established subsidiaries Arctic Seafood AS (Ålesund & Bergen), North Sea Seafood (Bodø), Fjord Fisheries AS (Tromsø), and Barents Seafood AS (Hammerfest), expanding operations across Norway’s coastal waters and into the North Sea, Norwegian Sea, and Barents Sea fishing grounds.
